Steve and Detty are founders and directors of Acorn International Ministries Which is a UK and Internationally based pioneering ministry. ACORN is a registered charity and non-profit making organisation with the Charities Commission of England and Wales and has Trustees and Representatives in UK, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the USA.
Since 1995, Steve and Detty have been actively involved in evangelism and their first mission trip took them to China, Romania and Africa. Those early mission experiences helped them to catch and expand their world vision and passion for the lost. This later became a reality when their mission trips took them to Asia, working with and serving Pastors and churches in Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and South India, to fulfil what God had called them to do.
From 1998, they have been involved in reaching un-reached people groups in remote villages with evangelistic meetings and encouraging national and international Pastors with church planting and pioneering work.
They have been actively involved in supporting underprivileged children and are currently supporting twenty street children in an orphanage in India and also supporting sixteen "Hill Tribe Girls" in a hostel in Thailand.
Trained So That To The World They Will Go
In 2001, in obedience to God's call on their lives, by faith, they both resigned from their full time jobs, sold their house and possessions and attended RHEMA Bible Training Centre for two years ministerial training. They spent their first year training in the mission field of Singapore. The second year was spent in Oaklahoma, USA, where they Graduated in May 2003. They are ordained and licenced with RHEMA Ministerial Association International (RMAI) and are now serving as full time missionaries in Indonesia.
